In the original Hebrew, ALEF-TAV (תא), the heavens, the earth (without form and void), darkness on the face of the deep, and water are all mentioned before the Father of Lights imparted His uncreated light through speaking let there be light: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day” (Genesis 1:1-5).
Notice how God does not call the darkness good in Genesis 1. Most references in Scripture reveal that darkness is not good. For example: “When wisdom enters your heart, And knowledge is pleasant to your soul, Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you, To deliver you from the way of evil, From the man who speaks perverse things, From those who leave the paths of uprightness TO WALK IN THE WAYS OF DARKNESS; Who rejoice in doing evil, And delight in the perversity of the wicked” (Proverbs 2:10-14).
Yet, Psalms 18 reveals that YHVH “made darkness His secret place; His canopy around Him was dark waters And thick clouds of the skies” (Psalms 18:11). Additionally, Psalms 97:2 speaks of “clouds and darkness surround Him [YHVH]; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.” Therefore, there appears to be a righteous darkness and unrighteous darkness.
Job 26 adds an interesting perspective: “He drew a circular horizon on the face of the waters, at the boundary of light and darkness’ (Job 26:10). How interesting that the boundary of light and darkness is a circular horizon on the waters. On one side, we have the light of the Holy Spirit hovering/brooding over the face of the living waters, which is on the righteous face of the deep. On the dark side, we have the unrighteous darkness on the face of the deep, which is the face of the abyss.
The face of the abyss is an endless black hole connected to the darkness of the Beast. We have recently learned that the Beast and the Antichrist are not the same.
Mankind can unknowingly be married to darkness. This unholy marriage keeps people in the cycle of darkness and being hooked to this fallen world that’s passing away. The profane gold wedding ring of darkness is actually on people’s heads, controlling the minds of those who are meant to overcome the darkness to come into His glorious light. Unrighteous darkness is a thorny place of evil where the cares of the world, the things of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches choke out the Word of God within and without (Matt. 13:22). All these things bring a person to the face of the abyss, which is the Beast’s endless black hole of misery, depression, and dissatisfaction.
Choose this day the righteous darkness found in YHVH’s secret place, or the unrighteous darkness of the Beast.
“Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you” (Isaiah 60:1-2).
Give em heaven!!!
