There was a deep and hidden connection to the Biblical Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost) when Yeshua proclaimed to the woman at the well: “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:23-24 NKJV).
When believers “worship the Father in spirit and in truth,” they automatically tap into the divinely-given forever feast of Shavuot; because Pentecost was the time when both the spirit and truth were given to His people.
At Shavuot, we celebrate the giving of the truth of the Torah (First Five Books of the Bible) due to it being the very day that the Ten Commandments were given by God to Moses. Exodus 19:1 tells us that the Jewish people arrived at Mount Sinai on the third day of the third month (Sivan). They sanctified and cleansed themselves to be ready to meet God three days later. On the sixth of Sivan, God appeared on the mountain with the awesome display of thunder, lightning, a thick cloud, and fire on the mountain (Exodus 19:16). As the smoke of His Presence ascended, there was the sound of a “blast furnace” (Exodus 19:18). Additionally, the piercing sound of the shofar grew louder and louder; thus, this forever feast is also called “The First Trump.” Moses spoke and God answered with “voices” and “tongues” (Exodus 19:19). God literally spoke in all the seventy languages earth to include people of all nations, tribes, and tongues.
In Acts 2, there were thousands of Hebrews who came up to Jerusalem, as commanded in Leviticus 23:15-21 for Shavuot. This is when Messiah Yeshua sent the Holy Spirit, and His people repeated all the pictures of Shavuot. Those gathered were like little mountains (i.e., living stones) where tongues of fire appeared on their heads, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:3-4). These people spoke in other tongues, just as God did at Mount Sinai. There was a sound of a mighty rushing wind, just like the “blast furnace” on the mountain of God. However, this time God wrote His Word on their hearts of flesh, not tablets of stone.
“For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God” (Ezekiel 36:24-28 NKJV).
Behold, you are a letter of Christ, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the Living God (2 Corinthians 3:3). Only God can write your fiery letter with Spirit on spirit. Therefore, ascend up your mountain and turn your face to God, like Moses did. Meet with Him face to face; then, you will know His glorious presence, and become brighter and brighter until you are transfigured into His very likeness. This is what this Fiery Spirit and Truth Feast of Shavuot is all about.
This is the walk that Enoch walked. Significantly, Enoch was born on the sixth of Sivan – Shavuot – and taken up to heaven that very day.
Let all of heaven and earth gather at His divinely-ordained feast to worship the Father in spirit and in truth!
