For the law made NOTHING PERFECT; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God” (Hebrews 7:19). When we combine Hebrews 7:19 with Yeshua telling the multitudes on the Mount of Beatitudes “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill” (Matthew 5:17), we understand Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ) is the fulfillment of nothing made perfect and we are to follow in the footsteps as the Pattern Son.

I teach more about these concepts in the following articles:

Nothing is perfect: “But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known” (1 Corinthians 13:10-12 KJV).

The Greek word for “perfect” in both 1 Cor. 13:11 and 1 Cor. 2:6 is Strong’s G:5046 teleios, which means complete in labor, complete in growth, complete in mental character, complete in moral character unto a full age man. Teleios comes from G:5056 telos, which speaks of setting out for a definite point or goal. It’s a point aimed at as a limit to the uttermost. That utmost limit, point, or goal is the fullness of the stature of Christ. For more about “perfect,” check out

My Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary (10th Edition) defines perfect as: being entirely without fault or defect : FLAWLESS : satisfying all the requirements : ACCURATE : corresponding to an ideal standard : faithfully reproducing the original (letter-perfect) : legally valid : to bring to final form : PURE : COMPLETE : MATURE. “Perfect” points to the Bride of Christ who will fulfill being pure, mature, complete, and entirely without fault or defect. Perfect implies the soundness and the excellence of every part of the whole. Christ’s Beautiful Bride will be entire, the perfection deriving from integrity, soundness, and comprehensive wholeness.

We speak wisdom among them that are perfect (1 Cor. 2:6). “Then Jesus said to them, ‘When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I AM He, and that I DO NOTHING OF MYSELF; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things” (John 8:28).
