Q: Anyone know the meaning of each candle?
A: People have assigned meanings, but as far as I know God has not. As you know, the first candle represents the first day of Hanukkah, 2nd candle the 2nd day of Hanukkah. Et cetera.
In the smaller version of my book Blazing New Wine of Hanukkah (p. 65-66), I share some possible meanings of the candles that comes from Yeshua Ha’Mashiach Ministries:
[1] FIRST CANDLE describes the creative light, the very light of God, as it was in the beginning (Gen. 1:3-4).
[2] SECOND CANDLE reveals that God is the source of Israel’s light (Exo. 13:21-22).
[3] THIRD CANDLE reminds us that God Himself is the source of our own individual light (Psa. 27:1; Psa. 18:28).
[4] FOURTH CANDLE describes the light that comes from God’s Word (Psa. 119:105).
[5] FIFTH CANDLE represents the greatest grace and light of all, our Messiah Yeshua (John 1:4-5; John 8:12; 2 Cor. 4:6).
[6] SIXTH CANDLE represents those being made in the Messiah’s image being the Light of the World (Matt. 5:14-16).
[7] SEVENTH CANDLE speaks of the future glory of Israel (Is-real) being restored and our light shining in the darkness (Isa. 60:1-2).
[8] EIGHTH CANDLE illuminates the glorious dwelling place of His Bride, the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:22-27).
