2024 is going to be an exciting year that is going to require us to be focused correctly.
Yeshua (Jesus) told the ruling political authority – Pilate – who appeared in the natural to have the power of life and death over Him: “My Kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36). He is our Pattern Son. We also need to be dedicated to His Kingdom that is not of this world. Minimally, we should be lifting up Messiah Yeshua in our own lives first by doing what He would do in all things, so that all mankind and all creation can be drawn to Himself (John 8:28, 1 John 2:6).
In 2024, Psalms 24 will be of especial importance. It speaks about how the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and all who dwell in it (Psa. 24:1). It speaks of how the earth was founded on the waters (Psa. 24:2). It speaks of ascending to His Kingdom that is not of this world: “Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully” (Psalms 24:3-4). Notice that clean hands in what a person does and a pure heart devoted to Christ are both prerequisites for ascending rightly. Also note, the two things called out in a negative sense: lifting up your soul to an idol – worshiping idols – and swearing deceitfully, which requires deception, manipulation, and lies.
Once a person is positioned properly with clean hands and a pure heart before God Most High, they can accurately lift up their heads to enable the King of Glory to come in. The King of Glory is mighty in battle, which we will need in 2024 (Psa. 24:8). The King of Glory is the LORD of hosts (Psa. 24:10). He is not only The King of kings and Lord of lords, but the Commander and Chief of the heavenly angelic hosts that far outnumber the demonic. He is also the Commander and Chief of the righteous Melchizedek Host in heaven and on earth.
So, let us join King David to pray: “Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. … Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. 13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners shall be converted to You” (Psalms 51:1-2,10-13 NKJV).
May you be Jacob: “This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face. Selah 7 Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah” (Psalms 24:6-10 NKJV).
