We are in the time of the To overcome problems these days, it is becoming increasingly important that we remember the power of God.
We are in the time of the wearing down of the saints (Daniel 7:25). Therefore, we need to know and practice the Biblical prescription for renewing strength. When we become weak, and weary, the Biblical prescription for renewing our strength is waiting upon the Lord: “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31 NKJV).
Many assume that waiting is solely a passive meditative stance where we sit in silence, contemplate, and wait, which is an excellent practice; but 95-percent of the time the Hebrew word used for “wait” in Isaiah 40:31 is used in the context of battle. Let’s gaze closer at this mighty tool for battle.
The “wait” in the phrase “those who wait on the Lord” is the Hebrew word qāvâ. Even though the definition of this word includes, look eagerly for, to lie in wait for, to linger, it also includes the concept of binding together, like twisting together. Waiting upon the Lord is the active and intimate practice of entwining yourself with the Lord.
To entwine with the Lord implies that action is required. You must reach out to become entwined, like a child reaches out for their daddy’s leg to hold on for all they are worth. This child is basically saying: Wherever you go, I go. Another picture is a spouse coming into their Beloved’s arms and staying there soaking up the goodness.
Many moons ago I wrote an article about the man who brought the offering for the dedication of the Altar (i.e., heart) on the third day. When you boiled down the meaning of his name and his tribe, you receive the message: As we dwell with Him, He will twist and roll us together. This twisting together of the beautiful tapestry of love is first an individual work; and then corporate. May you and yours take up the dynamic tool of waiting upon the Lord to renew your strength!
Give em heaven!!!
