Whenever the term the “finger of God” is used in Scripture, it is referring to the universal language when someone uses their index finger to point something out. Basically, God is pointing to Himself, as He reveals Himself with such clarity that anyone can point out the reality of His Presence.
“When I behold Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars that You have set in place [I think] ‘What is frail man that You should remember him. And the son of mortal man that You should be mindful of him?’” (Psalms 8:4-5 Tanach).
“And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man and upon beast. Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he harkened not unto them; as the LORD had said” (Exodus 8:18-19 KJV).
“But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: ‘Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls. If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? Because you say I cast out demons by Beelzebub. And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the Kingdom of God has come upon you” (Luke 11:17-20 NKJV).
Behold, the world is about to experience the finger of God like never before. Turn in repentance to the One pointing out the reality of His awe-inspiring presence.
